One thing I have found over the last few years is...
I hate cockroaches, an despite a few movies which like to portray these brown crawlies as cute little friends, I don't think anyone likes them.
The best way to get rid of them:
Use Boric Acid.
Easily available at any medical store, mix this white powder with same amount of maida (flour) and a few drops of milk and make it into a dough/paste that you can put into all the little cracks where there is a cockroach infestation.
It will take a few days for it to show effect but the results are long lasting. Mine haven't returned for close to 3 years now... and it has worked in almost every place I have suggested this remedy.
There are several other uses of Boric Acid Powder... but more on that Later
